Howdy David! Yes, there are numerous editions of Count of Monte Cristo out there, but the definitive translation to use in Robin Buss's Penguin edition. A lot of editions don't even list a translator, which means it's a very old, very generic translation that left a lot to be desired. But, it's public domain now, which means it's the one you find most commonly.
Yeah I went back and forth quite a bit re: October. I wanted to include another female author, so I went with Jackson's classic instead. I'll definitely get to it at some point in the future!
Gathering my reading materials for the year! Do you have any recommendations as far as a translation for the Count of Monte Cristo?

Great list! I am excited! Jeremy, are we still going to read "Endurance" in Nov-Dec of this year?
Yup! I'll introduce that one soon.
Whoa, an October audible. I was looking forward to Dracula.

Loved East of Eden.
The best Steinbeck!
Oh good list! I’ve read a couple of these but will look forward to reading them again.
Anything McMurtry...!!!
